this sacred wood spent at least three years resting on the forest floor before reaching you, enough time to develop the warm, citrus bright smoke palo santo is known for.

the Incas burned it in ceremony. Shamans in the Andes still do. in Quechua, the language of these lands, it was called sisaya, flower opening, for the way its smoke was believed to open a path to the sacred.

Palo santo came later. the reverence didn't.

only wood that has fallen naturally is gathered. as it rests, its resin matures, revealing the amber and gold veins running through each stick. the deeper the veins, the richer the aroma. none of this can be hurried. neither can the ritual.

light it when you need to reset and come back to yourself.
how to use

one stick | many burns
hold the stick at a slight angle and light the tip. let it catch for about 30 seconds, then blow out the flame. set it in a fire-safe holder and let the smoke move through the space. when you're done, press it out gently. relight it when you need to come back to yourself.
